Metropolia is renewing the library concept
Metropolia is developing a library concept aimed at better supporting learning, teaching, and collaborative work. The project is titled “Renewal of the Library Concept.”
A working group established for the renewal has assessed the current situation and considered areas for development this spring. The library will continue to be seen as an important activity that supports studying. The goal is to create more comprehensive and accessible services, utilizing the existing library facilities.
Next, the work will focus on gathering user feedback and brainstorming solutions:
- A spring workshop will bring together students and staff to discuss the library’s development needs.
- The summer student innovation project (Minno) will focus on library development, with final results expected in September.
- A survey will be conducted for the entire university community in the fall.
Development areas may include, for example:
- flexible spaces that better serve students
- smooth and accessible services
- strengthening collaboration with teaching and student services.
We want to hear the views of students and staff. The workshop planned for this spring and the survey in the fall offer an opportunity to influence the development of the library and learning center.
As a reminder, Metropolia’s business administration programs will be moving from Myyrmäki to Myllypuro this fall. As a result of the move, business administration books will be transferred from Myyrmäki to the Myllypuro campus library. Read more in the announcement.
Stay tuned!
