Accessibility and Inclusion in international activities
Participation to exchange is possible despite of possible special needs. Your International Relations Adviser can assist you finding best possible exchange destination. The process is confidential and we recommend that you contact us early to ensure a smooth process and enough time for preparations to all parties.
Exchange students may need additional support for example due to disability, illness or learning difficulty. Individual arrangements are in place to support the student's learning outcomes and smooth travel and everyday life: housing, travel, communiting, participation to the activities, health and wellbeing.
You can participate student exchange abroad or in certain degree programmes complete a double degree. Furthermore, you can complete the work placement abroad or participate short exchanges or international online and blended learning opportunities.
Erasmus+ and Nordplus programmes offer accessibility support. More information on the exchange grant -pages. Students belonging to the following categories are eligible for additional top up support in Erasmus+ programme:
- students who have under-aged children living in the same household. It is not necessary for the children to accompany the student to the exchange destination.
- students who are dependant carers (care agreement with the municipality)
- students with EU Disability Card or eligibility for the card
- students with disability/-ties (at the very least moderate impairment)
- students with severe and chronic health problems (at the very least moderate impairment)
- students that are international recipients of protection (refugees, asylum seekers, international or subsidiary protection recipients, or students with refugee travel documents
