Cycling

Cycling is a great way to get to campus for a working and school day! In this section you will find bicycle parking facilities on campus and other cycling-related services and guidelines.

Bicycle parking on campus

Arabia 

On the K-floor of the north end of Arabia135, there is indoor bicycle parking for over 200 spaces (access rights are required). The ramp to the bike park runs between the Soiva building and the north end of Arabia135 from Muotoilijankatu. From the bike park you can access the campus directly.

Karamalmi

The bicycle parking is located right next to the entrance to the campus.

Myllypuro

The bike park is located in front of the campus on the side of Liikuntamylly and the metro station.

Myyrmäki

Cycle parking is located on the Leiritie side.

Charging points for electric bicycles

All campuses are equipped with charging cabinets, which allow the charging of electric bicycle batteries in a controlled and fire-safe manner. 

To use the charging cabinet, a removable battery is necessary. 

The charging locker is accessed with an RFID tagged card, such as an ID or library card. For more detailed instructions on how to use the locker, please refer to the front panel of the locker.

Borrow a lock or maintenance equipment

Bicycle loan locks 

You will find Kryptonite security class 8/10 U-locks in libraries. Read more on the library blog post.

Repair and maintenance equipment

If your bicycle tyres need to be pumped or your chains need oil, you can borrow maintenance equipment from the lobby services on all campuses. You will find the following maintenance equipment in the lobby services: 

  • chain oil
  • lock oil
  • wheel pump
  • microfibre lines
  • in addition, washing equipment and cleaning products are available at the Myyrmäki campus, for use in front of the bike storage. 

Campus Jopos – Borrow a Bike

Each campus has a bicycle available for short-term borrowing for use during a single day. The campus bikes can be found in OMA's Reservation Calendar.
