Student ambassadors

Do you want to gain valuable experience in communication and marketing within the higher education environment? Do you wish to share your study experiences with other aspiring young individuals at Finland's largest university of applied sciences? Next intake 2026.

What kind of tasks do student ambassadors perform?

Metropolia's Student Ambassadors are divided into two groups depending on the tasks each Ambassador will be engaging with: the Event Team and the Content Team.

In the Event Team you get to for example:

  • present Metropolia at secondary school visits (online and contact)
  • showcase Metropolia's study options at fairs and applicant events
  • be a part of the event organization team in Metropolia's many stakeholder events

In the Content Team you get to for example:

  • create engaging content from a student's perspective to our social media channels like Instagram and TikTok
  • experience photoshoots as a model in our marketing campaign video/photoshoots
  • ideate and plan out Metropolia's social media content

Student ambassadors are compensated for their work, with the amount varying based on the task. You will not be employed by Metropolia, allowing you to choose the activities that align with your strengths and personal schedules. Furthermore, ambassadors will be presented on Metropolia's website. They will be sharing their backgrounds, reasons for choosing to study at Metropolia, favorite campus spots, and future plans etc. The selected student ambassadors will be photographed as well.

Commitment to the student ambassador program is for one academic year at a time. Existing student ambassadors must also express their interest in continuing for the academic year 2024-2025.

Why would you become a Metropolia Student Ambassador?

As a student ambassador, you'll network with students from other disciplines at Metropolia and have the opportunity to share your student experience with current and prospective higher education students. Simultaneously, you'll provide an authentic student perspective to Metropolia's communication channels, ensuring that topics of interest to students are well represented. As a student ambassador, you'll work within an inspiring team, gaining versatile experience and compensation. Here are a few reasons to join the student ambassador program:

What kind of attitude do we value?

Metropolia's diverse and vibrant community is guided by a shared set of values, and in all our actions, we are committed to promoting equality and diversity. We are seeking students from various backgrounds – you can be yourself. You don't need to be an experienced performer. Genuine connections with people and your unique student story are always meaningful.

Prior experience in similar roles is not necessary, as we provide training and guidance for new ambassadors to get involved. Metropolia's marketing and communications team is always there to support you in your role.

As an Ambassador, it's crucial to be genuinely enthusiastic about sharing your own studies and student experiences at Metropolia. Our ambassadors put a face to Metropolia and serve as examples for young individuals considering their future studies and fields. You might already have some experience with social media content creation, and a willingness to learn within the ambassador role is appreciated. We also value a positive and eager-to-learn attitude.

Compensation for Student Ambassador Activities

Metropolia's student ambassadors will receive a salary that depends, for example, on the nature of the project or the duration of the task.
