Emergencies

Each member of the Metropolia community is responsible for promoting safety and security through their own actions. We must report any observed hazards, threats, or accidents, and take appropriate preventive or rescue measures according to our abilities.

In an Acute Emergency:

If you observe a situation that poses a threat to life, health, property, or the environment:

  • Call the general emergency number 112 immediately.
  • Also inform the campus lobby services or another member of Metropolia staff.

When making an emergency call:

  1. Call yourself, if possible
  2. Describe what has happened
  3. Give the exact address and municipality – always know your location!
  4. Answer all questions asked
  5. Follow the instructions given
  6. Do not end the call until instructed to do so
  7. Call 112 again if the situation changes
  8. Guide the emergency responders to the scene – meet them if possible

Safety Notice:

Remember to also submit a safety notification. You can report any safety- or security-related incidents or risks, as well as suggest improvements.
Reports should be submitted as soon as possible after the observation. Submit the notice at: https://hd.metropolia.fi (login required)
