Accessibility statement and feedback

We strive to ensure that our services are accessible in accordance with the Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019) and the EU Web Accessibility Directive. This accessibility statement outlines the known issues in the accessibility of the service and provides instructions on how to send us feedback or improvement suggestions regarding accessibility.

Accessibility statement for the Student’s Guide online service

This accessibility statement applies to the digital service Student’s Guide and was published on 7.8.2025. The description of the site's accessibility is based on self-assessment and an evaluation conducted by an external expert organization.

Header

  • The labels and accessible names of the language menu options do not match. (2.5.3)

Breadcrumb Navigation

  • The breadcrumb cannot be operated using a single pointer on small screens. (2.5.1)

Images

  • Empty alternative text has been assigned to images improperly. (1.1.1)

Did you find what you were looking for?

  • Invisible buttons are still focusable with assistive technologies. (1.3.1)
  • Feedback status messages are not programmatically conveyed to the user. (4.1.3)
  • The programmatic description of the button has issues. (4.1.2) 

Other known issues in the service

  • Cookie settings contain several issues affecting keyboard and assistive technology usability. (2.1.1), (2.4.3), (2.4.7), (3.1.2), (4.1.2)
  • The site's language and programmatic language do not always match. (3.1.2)
  • The label of the search field is not associated with the search element. (4.1.2)
  • The implementation of search results has flaws. The entire content of a result card is inside a link element, making links unclear. (2.4.4)
  • The selected search category is not indicated programmatically. (1.3.1)
  • The alt texts of images in search results are not descriptive. (1.1.1), (3.1.2)
  • The expanded/collapsed state of the search category element is not communicated. (4.1.2)
  • Some videos lack audio descriptions. In these cases the information of the video can be read below the video. (1.2.5)
