First aid and emergency equipment

This page contains information related to campus rescue equipment and first aid.

First Aid Stations

Each campus has first aid stations located in common areas, stocked with supplies such as plasters and bandages. First aid supplies are also available at campus lobby services.

Defibrillators

All campuses are equipped with defibrillators. A semi-automatic defibrillator, or AED (Automated External Defibrillator), is a medical device that analyzes the heart rhythm and delivers a shock if an electrically treatable arrhythmia is detected. Because the device automatically decides when a shock is necessary, anyone arriving first at the patient can safely use it. If the device detects that a shock is not needed, it will not allow the user to deliver one.

Locations of defibrillators by campus:

  • Arabia: next to the lobby service point
  • Karamalmi: next to the lobby service point
  • Myllypuro: in the lower lobbies of buildings A, B, and C, and in the B1 motion laboratory
  • Myyrmäki: next to the lobby service point

The device is stored in a wall cabinet equipped with a siren that activates when the cabinet is opened.

Evacuation Chairs

The Myllypuro campus also has evacuation chairs located near staircases. These chairs enable the safe evacuation of, for example, severely injured or mobility-impaired individuals.
