Thesis guidance
The content and text supervisors appointed by Metropolia serve as your support during the thesis process, providing you with encouragement and quality control. If your thesis has been commissioned by a partner, you can receive guidance from the commissioning company or organisation. You should agree on the guidance procedures with the commissioning partner when you start your thesis process.
When you start your thesis process, a supervisor will be appointed for your work. The supervisor will give you feedback oon your thesis at the various stages of the process. Once your thesis is ready, your supervisor will give you permission to publish it.
Guidance can be given in a group or personally. Your supervisor will tell you about available guidance opportunities and how the guidance will be provided.
You should take advantage of the guidance offered to support your work on your thesis. The guidance is based on dialogue and consists of general guidelines – you will make the decisions on how to make best use of the feedback you receive in guidance in your thesis.
To support you in writing your thesis, you can obtain guidance on finetuning the language in your thesis report and abstract from Metropolia’s Finnish-language and English-language lecturers.
The guidance for writing text can be provided in a seminar or workshop or as personal guidance. You can obtain more detailed information on the practicalities of guidance for writing text from your degree programme.
Metropolia is using Wihi, a system for managing and communicating the thesis process.
You can apply for a decision concerning individual study arrangements if you have learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, that affect your work on your thesis.
The general guidelines of Metropolia are followed in the application process. The application will be launched under the management of the special education teacher of MErkkatiimi. The individual study arrangements granted to you will be taken into consideration throughout the thesis process.
