Are you new to Finland and curious about how things work here?
Would you like to better understand Finnish culture, everyday life, studying, working — and feel more at home in a new country?
Life in Finland Workshops is a warm and supportive 6-session journey designed especially for international students who have recently arrived in Finland. Each workshop builds on the previous one, so we encourage you to commit to the entire series.

- Living in Finland & Understanding Finnish Society
- Studying and Education in Finland
- Working in Finland
- Your Skills in Finland – Strengths, Competence & Future Skills

This workshop series works best when the same group of students meets throughout all six sessions. By participating each time, you will:
- build real connections with other newcomers
- feel part of a safe and supportive group
- gain confidence to ask questions and share experiences
- learn step by step about Finnish life, culture, society and studying
- feel more at home — not only at school, but in Finland
- receive an attendance certificate
- get free snacks every time!
Who can join?
All international Metropolia and 3AMK students, especially those who have recently moved to Finland.

Life in Finland Workshops are organised by the Metropolia Welcome Hub in cooperation with Metropolia International Relations, Career Services and Student Wellbeing Services. The workshops are based on the civic orientation learning material Yhteiskuntaorientaatio.fi.
