Things to Know About Cross-Institutional Studies
Metropolia has established various cross-institutional study networks with other Finnish higher education institutions, allowing students from different institutions to participate in each other's courses. Cross-institutional studies require a valid study right, which may be as a degree student, an exchange student, or a path student in the Open UAS, depending on the network. The studies are often field-specific, meaning that students from different fields have access to different cross-institutional offerings. As a cross-institutional student, you will be granted a temporary right to study at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences for the courses you have chosen.
Explore the study offerings available to you in your home institution’s study information system. You can also find the full list of courses available through cross-institutional study networks involving Metropolia in Metropolia's Study Guide.
Prior to enrolling in cross-institutional studies, consider the following:
- Ensure that your planned studies are approved according to your home institution’s guidelines.
- You must have a valid right to study at your home institution and be registered as present for the entire duration of the planned studies.
- Cross-institutional studies are free of charge when you register through your home institution’s study information system. If you register through the Open UAS (Open University of Applied Sciences), the studies may be subject to a fee.
- The rules and regulations of the host institution apply to all cross-institutional studies.
