Event Assistants and Assistant Team Leads

City of Helsinki is looking for 10–13 event assistants and 2 assistant team leads for Helsinki Welcome Day 2026, a welcoming event for new international residents in Helsinki.

📅 Date: Thursday 4 June 2026

📍 Location: Helsinki City Hall

🕝 Event time: 16:00–19:00

⏰ Working time: approx. 4 hours (event duration 3 hours)

💰 Compensation: 10 €/hour

📜 Certificate of participation will be provided

Available Roles

  • Event Assistants: Supporting the smooth running of the event (venue prep, welcoming guests, guiding at activity points, and general support).
  • Assistant Team Leads (2 positions): Coordinating assistants and helping with on-site coordination. Includes a few extra prep hours.
  • Quiz Host (1 position): An energetic speaker to host Helsinki-themed quizzes on stage.

Requirements

We are looking for people with a positive attitude who enjoy interacting with others and are comfortable working in an international environment.

Please note: The event takes place after the school year ends. Make sure you are available if you are planning to travel or starting a summer job.

Payment & Selection

  • Selection: Handled by Haaga-Helia. We want to hear why you want to be part of the day and your ideas for the event!
  • Tax Card: Selected assistants will need a tax card for trade income (työkorvauksen verokortti).
