As a path student at Metropolia’s Open University of Applied Sciences, you can now also study courses offered by other higher education institutions!

Hello, student completing bachelor’s or master’s path studies at Metropolia’s Open University of Applied Sciences!

Are you interested in taking additional studies? From now on, you can also study courses offered by other higher education institutions using your Metropolia study entitlement.

What does this mean?

You can complete studies offered by another higher education institution through cross-institutional studies, based on the agreements made between the institutions. Courses completed at another institution are usually studies which are not included in your path studies, and they do not replace the required contents of the path. For example, you can take courses that belong to a degree you plan to apply for later. These studies are free of charge.

As a cross-institutional student, you will be granted a new right to study at the institution offering the course. The right to study is based on the one you have at Metropolia, meaning that once your right to study at Metropolia ends, it will also end at the host institution. After completing the course, check that it appears in your Metropolia study records. Completed studies from the host institution will be transferred to your Metropolia records automatically.

Study search and registering for studies

You can browse the study offerings targeted to you and register for courses at another higher education institution

A wide range of courses in different fields is available, for example from Campus Online and 3AMK offerings.

See the Student Desktop’s instructions for enrollment here (login with your Metropolia ID). Navigate to the section Enrollment for cross-institutional studies.

Please note that you may only register for studies corresponding to the level of the path you are completing. You do not need to determine the level yourself, as you can directly see the study offering opened specifically for you.

Discuss your planned studies with your PSP advisor and agree on registering for them. This ensures that the studies support your personal study plan.

Check more information about cross-institutional studies in Student's Guide! If needed, your PSP advisor will give you further information.
