Library tips for new students

Published: 12.08.2026

Welcome to the Metropolia Library! You have access to a large collection of materials and several campus libraries. Together with the Haaga-Helia and Laurea libraries, we form the 3AMK Libraries.

MetCat Finna is your online library

You can find both print and digital resources in Metropolia’s MetCat Finna online library. The collection includes books, journals, sheet music, articles, databases, theses, and much more. You can also make reservations, renew your loans, and pay fees through the online library.

Through the online library, you can access Metropolia’s e-resources. By searching international e-resources, you can find peer-reviewed research, journal articles, and e-books from a wide range of disciplines and publishers.

You can access Metropolia’s licensed e-resources both on campus and remotely by logging in with your Metropolia username and password. Access to e-resources is available to Metropolia students and staff.

Your library card is on your phone

As a Metropolia student, you’ll receive a library card in the Tuudo mobile app. You can easily create your library card in Tuudo even before visiting the library.

You’ll need your library card to borrow printed materials and items. The Metropolia library card is also valid at other 3AMK libraries, which are the Haaga-Helia and Laurea libraries. You can reserve books from the 3AMK libraries through the Metropolia online library and pick up your reservations at the library of your choice. You can also return your loans to any of these libraries.

You can use all campus libraries

You can study and use the libraries on weekdays from morning to evening, as long as campus opening hours allow. Opening hours consist of service hours and self-service hours. You can find the opening hours for Metropolia’s campus libraries on the MetCat Finna homepage. The Myllypuro Campus Library is also open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the academic terms.

In addition to the Metropolia Library, you can use the libraries at the Haaga-Helia and Laurea campuses. You can find the contact information and opening hours for the 3AMK libraries on Metropolia LibGuides website.

Get help online and on campus

Metropolia LibGuides is a website where you can find guides on information searching and using e-resources, as well as all library services. You can also access e-resources remotely via the links on the site.

You can get help with library services both online and in person during customer service hours at the libraries. In addition to real people, the Kirjasto-Kamu AI bot is there to assist you.
