“Action Required: Please review group access” — remember to respond to the request for review
At Metropolia, a review of guest users’ access rights in Microsoft 365 groups has been introduced, and an automatic request is sent for this purpose. The review keeps necessary access rights valid and removes unnecessary ones. You can process the reviews assigned to you conveniently all at once, instead of having to go through each group’s access settings individually.
Did you receive an email from Microsoft titled “Action required: Review group access”?
The message asks you to check whether the guest users of the Microsoft 365 or Teams group mentioned still need access to the group. Assess the need for each access right based on whether collaboration with that person through the group is still current.
- Check that the message is genuine and review the access rights according to the instructions on the IT Services website.
- You will see the reviews assigned to you.
- Go through all users whose access must be reviewed and save your decisions.
Complete the review no later than the deadline stated in the message or in the review service.
What happens if I do not complete the review?
Access rights that are not reviewed may be removed after the deadline. In that case, the guest user may lose access to the group and to the content available through it. The group owner can restore the access right if necessary.
