03/2026 News for International Students at Metropolia
Welcome to the March Edition of the News for International Students at Metropolia!
Spring in Finland is a season of mixed signals. One day it feels like spring is here, the next day it may snow again. Let’s see how many “takatalvi” surprises we get this year! (Takatalvi = winter making a brief comeback in spring.) Remember that mornings can still be icy, so watch out for black ice to avoid slips and falls. As the daylight increases rapidly after months of darkness, you may also notice a familiar Finnish spring phenomenon: as soon as the sun appears, people head outside to enjoy it.
In this newsletter, you’ll find tips, events and support for:
- meeting other students and building your network
- your career development and job search in Finland
- settling into life in Finland
- your studies, learning and wellbeing
