This course provides a broad overview of Finnish working life and job seeking in Finland. You will learn about:

Employee rights and responsibilities

The course is especially suitable for international students and job seekers who want to develop their understanding of Finnish working life and job hunting – and earn study credits at the same time.

Start to Finnish (by Akava, certificate but no study credits)

A free online course produced by Akava (the Confederation of Unions for Professional and Managerial Staff in Finland), focusing on the practical stages of working life:

Job search
Starting employment
Everyday working life
Ending a contract
Employee rights and responsibilities

You will learn about Finnish working life from the perspective of trade unions. Completing the course provides you with a certificate, but no ECTS credits.

You can choose the option that suits you best – or complete both, as the courses complement each other. Both are free of charge, fully online, and can be completed flexibly at your own pace.
