The Perfect Study Day - Get inspired by studying
Date: Wednesday, October 29, 2025
Have you ever wondered what makes a day the perfect study day for you? What kinds of choices, environment, and study methods create the best learning experience for you? During this theme day, you have the opportunity to structure your own study routine to make it more meaningful and enjoyable. Welcome to celebrate Metropolia’s – and possibly the world’s first – Perfect Study Day!
You can celebrate the Perfect Study Day anywhere: on campus, during classes, at home, in the library, or even on a park bench. You decide how to create your own perfect study day. Throughout the day, we want to encourage you to reflect on the actions, choices, and methods that support your learning and wellbeing. Join us in developing your own ways to study and enhance your student wellbeing!
You can explore the following themes, either alone or together with others:
- Ownership of studies: How can I influence the direction and quality of my studies?
- Building motivation: Where can I find enthusiasm and meaningfulness in my studies?
- Wellbeing and resilience: How do I take care of my mental focus and maintain balance?
- Study techniques and time management: What study methods help me learn best?
- Community and peer support: How can I benefit from the support of my community and share my insights with others?
Challenge: #theperfectstudyday or #täydellinenopiskelupäivä
We want to see how you spend your own Perfect Study Day! Share pictures, thoughts, and ideas on social media using the hashtags #theperfectstudyday or #täydellinenopiskelupäivä. You can also follow tips and discussions on Metropolia Student Wellbeing Services' social media channels @metropoliaohv.
Participate and inspire others. You can celebrate the day alone, in a student group, with friends, in student associations, clubs, with staff, or even within your work community.
Questions, suggestions, or ideas? Get in touch: antti.aijanen [at] metropolia.fi (antti[dot]aijanen[at]metropolia[dot]fi).
With your own choices, you can create a study routine that truly works!
Resting Marathon – the most relaxing student fitness challenge is here
This autumn, Metropolia launches a completely new kind of wellbeing event: the Resting Marathon.

What happens?
This marathon doesn’t measure distance – it measures your ability to unwind.
Each campus will host a softly lit, cozy relaxation space where you can:
- Lie down on a yoga mat, beanbag, or comfy chair
- Listen to soothing music and calming soundscapes
- Drift away with short stories, fairy tales, or micro-naps
- Enjoy caffeine-free tea, hot chocolate, and healthy snacks
- The first 100 people on each campus will receive a unique overall patch
- All participants will be entered into a draw to win noise-cancelling headphones
Why join?
Studying can sometimes feel like a sprint, but in reality, it’s a marathon – one that also requires rest and recovery skills.
Relaxing is a true student superpower: it helps you recharge, refocus, and restore your energy.
Come remind yourself that sometimes, the most productive thing you can do is nothing at all – for a moment.
The event is free of charge and open to all Metropolia students.
Take a break, unwind, and join the ranks of relaxation champions!
Resting Marathon is organized in collaboration with Metropolia’s Student Wellbeing Services, FSHS (Finnish Student Health Service), University Chaplains, and Library and Information Services.
Friends Program - Friends and new experiences
Dates: Academic year 2025-2026
Would you like to get to know more Finnish and international students?
The Friends Program brings together Finnish and international students – it’s all about meeting, making friends, and enjoying relaxed time with people from different cultures.
We meet once a month for various activities: relaxing, chatting, eating, and having fun together! The program continues throughout the academic year, and you can join at any time. The main language of the program is English, but communicating in other languages is also welcome.
The goal is to create genuine encounters and lasting friendships. Because friendship is valuable – come be a part of building meaningful connections!
