Metropolia University of Applied Sciences Student Wellbeing Services rewards student associations for their great work
Metropolia’s Student Wellbeing Services wants to start recognizing and thanking student associations that have done an especially great job in promoting student wellbeing. Each year, we will give out recognitions or awards to highlight actions that strengthen our sense of community and to encourage associations to keep developing their activities.
The first award was presented last week to MeBiEn ry, the student association for Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering and Energy and Environmental Engineering for organizing weekly study evenings at the Myyrmäki campus. Staff from Student Wellbeing Services visited one of the evenings to present a certificate and a small token of appreciation in recognition of their fantastic work in supporting community spirit and student wellbeing.
In the future, recognitions will be given to student associations that have, for example:
- strengthened community spirit and wellbeing among their students,
- organized engaging and inclusive events,
- developed new ways to support students’ wellbeing and coping,
- acted responsibly and promoted equality, taking all kinds of students into account.
Students and staff can nominate associations they feel deserve recognition, with a short explanation, by contacting the Head of Student Wellbeing Services Maarika Kortelainen (Maarika.Kortelainen [at] metropolia.fi (Maarika[dot]Kortelainen[at]metropolia[dot]fi)).
Warm regards,
Student Wellbeing Services
